Fishing behind the net

As told before, the photographer of Low profile is planning to buy an AE86. After positive experiences with some ae drivers it has been decided to look for a Trueno abroad. However this seems harder than originally expected.

The english models are mostly the Levin version (The most destinct difference between the Levin and the Trueno is that the Levin has fixed headlights while the Trueno has pop up headlights.) This is not what she is looking for unfortunately. If there is a trueno for sale, it is usually sold within a few seconds.

The cars from the big Japanese sites are around the 6000 dollar FOB (which means the car gets placed on the boat and afterwards its the responsibility for the seller.) In the end you will be looking at a price tag of around 7000 euro, which is somilar of a nice Soarer/MK2/Supra/R32.

The next step will be looking for an 86 from a private owner, but as closed as Japan is, it will probably take a while.
