Trackcheck: Vaalserberg Touge

As we have said at the trackcheck at Tholen we have asked you guys to give your racing routes. One of the tracks we have recieved is the Vaalserberg touge. Some of the people of Low Profile had already heard about this and therefore we thought it would be a good idea to show this track to you guys.
What does touge mean? Touge is often used wrong. 峠 (Tōge of  Touge)  is a japanese word and it means mountain pass. These mountain passes are S shaped because of the steep incline. Because of this it is easier for bigger vehicles to move through. These corners are very popular with streetracers. A lot of tracks are called touge even though they are obviously not touge's.

Although the original track is fun, we have adjusted it a little bit to make it more fun. Instead of starting at the ice cream store we will start the touge on the top of the mountain. Here it will go down with four hairpin turns before it joins the main road. The road itself is a combo between uphill and downhill and in the middle there is a long straight which makes overtaking easy. The roads do not have guard rails so make sure you do not overestimate yourself.

The biggest advantage of the touge is that nothing happens there. After two hours of practise we havent seen a single car or biker on the mountain. Another advantage is that there is hardly any lighting on the road so any form of headlights will be spotted pretty soon. This makes it easier to take blind corners with more confidence.

After practising we were amazed to not have found more racers on the track. The mountain is pretty famous so we would have expected it to be busy but this was not the case. Maybe it was the time or maybe it was because it was a regular weekday. One thing is sure, Low Profile will be seen heer more often. It is not strange to see that as of now the touge is Low Profile Approved.

If you want to drive it yourself. You can find the track here.
